Welcome to the homepage for the

World Association of Former United Nations Interns and Fellows (WAFUNIF)

As our name suggests, WAFUNIF is the official alumni organization for former interns and fellows of the United Nations. Membership in our organization is open to all former interns and fellows of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the satellite locations of Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi, the missions of the 193 member states, and the UN specialized agencies (UNICEF, UNITAR, et. al.). Membership provides qualifying individuals the opportunity to continue their association with the United Nations and to grow their personal and professional networks through project collaborations, informational seminars, and networking functions. Current interns and fellows are able to apply for early consideration in advance of the conclusion of their internship or fellowship in anticipation of becoming fully fledged members once their assignment has concluded. Further details on the application process can be found on our membership page.

WAFUNIF Value Proposition

Through our network of contacts, WAFUNIF works to raise awareness of and further the progress towards the United Nations working agenda. WAFUNIF advocates for and raises awareness of the UN 17 SDGs through various online and in-person events designed to identify and promote individuals and organizations working on projects that align with the SDGs. WAFUNIF is well positioned to serve the United Nations community as an engine of progress by bringing together representatives from various communities, including finance, research and technology, and communities in need to identify and solve challenges that progress humanity towards a brighter future.
