Message from the President

Dear WAFUNIF supporters:

Here at the WAFUNIF headquarters in New York, the holidays are once again upon us. It is a wonderful time of year that encourages us to come together as families, friends, and communities. It invites us to temporarily set aside our differences and our troubles and to reflect upon and appreciate the blessings that we each have in our lives and to celebrate the best in all of us. It encourages us to be selfless, and to think of those less fortunate. It encourages us to look towards the New Year as a fresh start where we hope to improve ourselves by defining and pursuing new goals. In short, it is a magical and special time of year that seeks to bring out the best in all of us.

WAFUNIF wishes you a very happy 2023 holiday season and all the best of luck in the new year. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, and Season's Greetings from WAFUNIF!

Warm regards,

Liliana Cress

WAFUNIF 45th Anniversary

WAFUNIF, the World Association of Former United Nations Interns and Fellows, is the official alumni network for the United Nations. Through this network, WAFUNIF is able to outreach ambassadors, diplomats, and other key stakeholders and participants to identify, coordinate, and facilitate development opportunities to further the work of the United Nations in its pursuit of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As such, WAFUNIF plays a unique and vital role among its peers in the United Nations non-profit community.

Founded on June 16th, 1978 by Dr. Hope White Davis, WAFUNIF has been privileged to work across diverse cultures, religions, geographies, and social, political, and economic systems throughout its 45 year operating history. WAFUNIF prides itself on its contributions to the success of these and other such projects that have made a measurable impact on their respective communities and causes.

Moving forward, WAFUNIF will continue in this tradition of global service. While the world has witnessed amazing transformative progress since the founding of the United Nations, much work remains in the never-ending drive towards a better, safer, and more sustainable global community. WAFUNIF is eager and excited to be involved in these efforts, and to work with our partners to leave the world a better place for future generations to inhabit.

If you have the time, WAFUNIF invites you to visit our social media pages to view historical artifacts and obtain timely information regarding our operations.
